Observation: 

  • This park is actually quite interesting. The tour demonstrates how iron nails were "created", taking it all the way from ore to a finished nail. An interesting fact that the ranger told us was that the Colonists would send the newly smelted iron rods to England to make nails and then have the finished nails sent back to the Colonies. Because of the cost of labor in the colonies, this was actually cheaper than making the nails here. Funny how some things never change!
