I cannot find any up-to-date pages on the web dedicated to the little book "Passport To Your National Parks" so I thought I'd put something together.  

My wife and I began our National Parks tour on May 14, 1999 at Montezuma's Castle Nat'l Monument.  It was here that I found the "Passport To Your National Parks".  Being a devotee of touristy stuff such as this, I couldn't help but buy one.  Since then, we have visited several other National Parks/Monuments/Recreation Areas/Historic Parks/Historic Sites.

Basically, the idea is to use this book like you would use a passport for international travel.  The country is divided into seven different regions, and each National Park has a different cancellation that you get for visiting it.  Some parks have several different cancellations.

The passport also has sections for the collectable stamps that have been released since 1986.  Each year, one national stamp and nine regional stamps, each highlighting a different Park, is released.  The national stamp typically features a park that is commemorating a milestone that year, such as the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.  These stamps have included everything from the Statue of Liberty to Saint-Gaudens.

If you are a fellow "Parker", please drop me a line at NPP@LazyK.com and let me know something about your travels, such as when you started, how many Parks/Monuments/etc. you've visited (and gotten canceled to prove it!), your favorite place visited, or whatever else you want.  Any interesting facts you can provide about the passport would also be appreciated.

For example, we found out that the Boston NHP does not have only one cancellation.  It has five!  (Faneuil Hall, Freedom Trail, Charlestown Navy Yard, Bunker Hill and Dorchester Heights.)  The Passport does not indicate that there are different sites to get cancellations at.  If you know of any other Parks like this, please let me know!
